Challenge
The political initiatives to reduce patient waiting times, has
formed two projects;
- The
18 Week Target in
England
- and
Access targets 2009 in
Wales
Even Though the targets are slightly different in
Wales
and
England
the idea behind the projects are the same and will
be referred as Referral to Treatment Targets.
No one will argue over the good intensions of
reducing waiting times, but how to achieve the
targets is a different story. The first hurdle for
many trusts is to setup procedures on how to
report the Referral to Treatment Targets.
